 This brass blow lamp (circa 1950) is in good
condition. It has not been tested (and should
not be) to establish if it is in working order.
Standing 215mm high.
Amazingly, there are plenty of collectors of
old blow lamps and one collection totals
3000 examples.
This lamp is made by Optimus of Sweden.
The markings on the lamp are; Optimus No.
411 (the model), A-B Optimus (the full title
of the company), UPPL-VASBY (an abbreviation
of the company address); Upplands,
Vasby, Sweden.
Swedish born inventor Carl Rickard Nyberg
created a revolutionary blow lamp vaporising
system in 1882. His patent design is not
far removed from this example.
