Selling
By submitting a lot into the auction or placing a bid you are accepting the terms and conditions of Collecticus. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you read all of the following information carefully.
Only registered Collecticus subscribers are permitted to sell items through
Subscriber Auctions. Each subscriber can enter as many lots as required. To enter a lot, simply complete the online entry form and the funds will be debited from your account. All entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
To include an image with your lot, submit a good quality photograph. Poor quality images may be rejected. Entries are accepted without images.
You can include more than one item in your lot. However, the lot must have one specific start price regardless of the number of items in the lot. When selecting your start price, please include your postage and packaging costs as these cannot be charged separately. (Your start price must be in multiples of 10p e.g. £5, £5.10, £5.20, etc.)
If selected, descriptions will be entered into the magazine exactly as they are submitted. Your descriptions will NOT be proofread, so please ensure there are no errors (grammatical or factual) in your description(s).
All images and written material etc must be your own copyright and submission shall amount to your acceptance of any liability arising due to infringement.
We are unable to accept autographs, Action Man, NatWest Cousin Wesley pigs, or tax discs into
Subscriber Auctions. Any lots containing these items will be rejected.
We reserve the right to refuse any lot submitted for auction for any reason whatsoever and may amend or delete any word(s) within the description submitted.
All lots sold through Subscriber Auctions are subject to a 10% commission fee, which is deducted from the payment we send to you on behalf of the buyer (if your lot does not sell, there is no commission charge).
If your lot sells, we will request payment from the buyer. Once payment is received, we will credit the funds into your account (minus the 10% commission fee) and request that you send the item(s) directly to the buyer (the name and address of the buyer will be sent on settlement of the item).
When sending your item(s) to successful bidders, please ensure that all parcels are packed securely to avoid being damaged in the post. We strongly recommend that you send valuable parcels by Recorded or Special Delivery so that they can be traced and are insured against loss or damage in the post. Sufficient postage costs should be included in your start price to ensure that buyers receive their item(s) safely. If any problems arise after the sale, your contact details may be released to the buyer.
No responsibility can be taken by Collecticus Emporium for any technical failure of the computerised auction system or any other failures or errors howsoever arising. Please note that we are unable to value items. All start prices should be selected by sellers based on the minimum they are prepared to accept for the item plus the postage and packaging costs.
Buyers
Anyone can bid on any of the lots featured in the auctions. All bids are legally binding and cannot be cancelled.
All payments for items must be received within 14 days of the auction ending. Once your payment has cleared, we will send your name and address to the seller of each lot and they will send your item(s) directly to you.
Every item in Subscriber Auctions is sold directly by a Collecticus subscriber. Although all payment transfers are arranged through Collecticus, we never actually see the items. Therefore, Collecticus cannot accept any responsibility for non-delivery or any problems arising from incorrect descriptions made by a private seller or any postal delays or damages. If you are not satisfied with the information provided in a description, we suggest that you do not bid.
However, if you have any problems with items purchased through Subscriber Auctions, please let us know so that we can monitor sellers and possibly prevent them from using
Subscriber Auctions in the future.
These Terms & Conditions may be amended by Collecticus Online Auctions, without prior notice and shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
